Teacher – Rebecca was raised in Yonkers, NY – just 20 minutes north of Mott Haven. She attended the University of Connecticut , where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction. During her time at UConn, Rebecca had the life-changing experience of studying abroad in Peru and teaching 1st Grade in a rural community. Rebecca also student taught in Hartford, CT where she had the opportunity to work with many Multilingual Learners. Since she was a child, Rebecca knew that she wanted to be a teacher. The experiences that she’s had over the past couple of years have deepened her passion for teaching and working with students in urban communities. In her free time, Rebecca likes to dance, bake, paint, and spend time with her family and friends.
