Teacher –
Samantha has a passion for teaching that developed through her work in child advocacy and education. Samantha grew up in New Jersey just outside of NYC and always dreamed about moving to NYC to work with children in an environment where she would really be able to make the difference in the lives of children. After attending college at Elon University in North Carolina and receiving a B.A. in Psychology and Human Services, Samantha made her way back to the NYC environment that she dreamed of working in. Samantha attended NYU and received her M.A. while teaching third grade at another charter school for 2 years. Samantha comes to Mott Haven Academy with a passion for socio-emotional development and its integration into the classroom. She loves Haven’s whole child approach and is thrilled to be able to bring her experience and knowledge to the Haven community as a teacher. In her spare time, Samantha loves to read and spend time with her friends and family and enjoy all that NYC has to offer!
